The official opening of the shop for the production of flexible pipes in insulation foam took place on June 27, 2014. The area of the new workshop is 1620 sq. m . A special pride of the plant – the joint development of JSC "POLYMER TUBE FACTORY" and the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Belarus of the flexible tube in polyurethane insulation "SMITFLEX and SEMIFLEX-P". Pipes "SMITFLEX" fully meet the requirements of the 4th category of pipelines of thermal networks and allow operation at a temperature of the transported medium up to 160°C and a pressure of up to 1.6 MPa. The supporting pipe is made of corrosion-resistant stainless steel AISI 316L. It is expected that stainless steel pipes will significantly increase the service life of heat networks. At the Republican professional competition "the Best construction product of the year" on the results of work for 2012 the pipe system "SMITFLEX" was first recognized as the winner in the categories" the Best technology of the year"," the Best complex system, technological solution in construction","Innovation of the year". Since then, success has accompanied this product every year. By the end of 2015, it was laid more than 120 km of heating systems from pipes "SMITFLEX". Geography of deliveries from Khabarovsk in the East to Copenhagen in the West. In 2015, began commercial shipments of the new product – flexible pipes "SMITFLEX-P". "SEMIFLEX-P" - the system of flexible heat-insulated pipes of new generation, designed for underground underground laying of heating systems with maximum working temperature up to 95°C, working pressure up to 1.0 MPa (a short-term increase in temperature up to 116°C). Pressure pipe "SMITFLEX-P" is made from polyethylene of raised heat resistance PE-RT type II with thermal insulation foam and outer protective coating of polyethylene. "SMITFLEX-P" can also be successfully used in systems of household and drinking water supply. PE-RT (heat-resistant polyethylene) has been actively used for the last 30 years. According to Dow Chemical, more than 43% of the market for polymer pipes for heating networks in Western Europe is PE-RT (reference: 42% - PEX of different cross-linking methods). It can be joined by welded joints and is cheaper to produce than PEX-a due to the absence of the cross-linking stage.
